Mount Speeds
There are 4 possible mount speeds: 50% (the basic free ones), 80% (rare/blue mounts), 110% (epic/purple mounts) and 140% (legendary/orange mounts).
If you acquire or purchase a faster mount, you must equip the new mount speed. Simply equipping and using the mount will not give the improved speed. See the mount interface below.
Mount Insignia Bonuses
You can have up to 5 active mounts in your stable and each of these mounts can be equipped with mount insignia. The insignia give you a bonus and certain combinations of insignia give a set bonus.
Information on Mounts can be found here: neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Mount
Information on Mount Powers can be found here: neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Mount_Powers
Here is a handy little database where you can select a mount and see what bonuses it can be equipped with or select a set bonus and see which mounts it can be equipped on: two30.github.io/neverwinter-insignia/
The Mount Interface
Current Tab
The mount interface is accessed in game via the main menu.
Notice that the mount your character is actually riding has nothing to do with the powers and movement speed. The most common mistake in the game is when someone gets an epic mount (110% speed), but doesn't change the movement speed in this window. When you equip the epic mount, it does not automatically equip the movement speed. You must go here and select the new movement speed.
Stable Tab
On the stable tab, you can have a maximum of 5 active mounts and you don't have to ride any of them. These mounts are completely separate from the one listed in #1 above.
The purpose of these mounts is to wear mount insignia. Certain insignia combinations give bonuses. You can see these on the Insignia Bonuses tab or on the wiki:

The ones in this picture are the ones suggested in the build for my Trickster Rogue.
